Association of Aerospace Industries (Singapore) (AAIS)The Association of Aerospace Industries (Singapore), AAIS, a non-profit organisation, was founded in Feb 2003 and is registered with the Singapore Registry of Societies. The AAIS is dedicated to promote competitiveness within Singapore's aerospace industries. Working with its partners Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB); Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA); International Enterprise Singapore (IE Singapore) and SPRING Singapore, AAIS aims to assist aerospace companies in growing existing businesses as well as developing new businesses / partnerships regionally & globally. To drive this growth, AAIS endeavours to provide leadership by facilitating strategies in innovation competitiveness, technical standards and accreditation. SaRCSaRC aims to be a centre of excellence in satellite engineering research, in particular nano-satellite technology and distributed space mission for remote sensing and communication applications. The centre was set up using internal funding after NTU has successfully developed a Merlion communication payload and launched it in the Surrey-built UoSat-12 mini-satellite on 21 April 1999. Centre for Remote Imaging, Sensing and Processing (CRISP)CRISP is a research centre funded by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). Located on the National University of Singapore, CRISP operates a ground station which tracks, receives and processing data from remote sensing satellites for various applications. The list of satellites CRISP currently receives includes SPOT-2, 4, 5, ERS-2, TERRA, AQUA and IKONOS. CRISP will also be receiving the most advanced 0.5m resolution commercial satellites GeoEye-1 and WorldView-1 satellites in the near future. CRISP also actively conducts research on very high resolution optical satellite data, hyper spectral remote sensing data and microwave remote sensing data.
